After a lot of price comparison and read these reviews and comparable (and expensive) scanners, I decided to step down from 160 bucks on this machine and hope the negative comments are doing. From what I can tell, are the people who examine the negative record is not very computer savvy either, have very specific software problems that I have not, fortunately or unfortunately bought lemons. The one I bought works great. Cartoonist and I wanted more scanners to meet at least one of the page 11x14 and 11x17 times. Try to scan in pieces with smaller scanner is simply a chore, and then a time-consuming. So a large format scanner is simply a practical decision. I saw a review of this right at the edge of one form or another if you want to scan a 11x17 page, but I'm not looking to the case with mine. I noticed people saying that this scanner will work with the version of Photoshop in particular. I just installed the scanner using the instructions and the CD that came with and have had no problems so far. Using the import option in CS3, I can get an excellent scan up to 1200 dpi. I simply have to close the import window, when I scanned to manipulate in Photoshop. I can not stress enough that you want to use Photoshop to control the scanner. The only major negative for the purchase is that the software it comes with complete garbage with almost no customization options. My previous Canon scanner that was very useful for first-party software.After Mustek has ever heard before, I did not expect anything good. Especially on the basis of judging other reviewers here.

Like others, I was careful that this work would be a Mac, but I was up and running in about 5 minutes. Mac users must install the TWAIN driver from the supplied CD-ROM and accessed through Photoshop (I use CS2) using the import function. Scanning is slow and the colors will need some adjustments in Photoshop, but no big deal, consider how much money I saved compared to buying other large format scanners.
