Among the items displayed was a new L-track solution for its Kaptive beam systems and components, and Steadymate recreational vehicle tie-downs and hardware. The Kaptive line of decking tracks and beams now includes the L-track, joining the A, E and F tracks, which are available in standard 10-ft. lengths. Kinedyne also introduced new accessories for the line, including logistics straps and hardware compatible with the system's tracks. Drivers can easily raise and lower the beams, which are stored at ceiling level when not in use.

Bottom Dump Truck

A semi bottom dump truck, also called a “belly dump”, has 3 axles, and pulls another tractor trailer with 2 axles.  The tractor being pulled will have a “clam shell” type gate in it. The major advantage of this type dump truck is its ability to lay the load in a linear heap. It is also maneuverable in reverse, unlike the double and triple trailer configurations. A semi bottom dump truck can be found either of the ‘windrow’ type or may be of the ‘cross spread’ type, with the gates opening front to rear instead of left and right.

The ‘cross spread’ gates type of bottom dump truck spread gravel evenly the width of the trailer, while the ‘windrow’ gates leave a pile of material in the middle. The cross spreads jam and do not work well with larger materials, and are not suitable for use where spreading is not desired, when a load must be dumped in one pile (such as hot asphalt).
